Description: It is essentially playing dodgeball with bows and foam-tipped arrows. It is safe and very fun!

Description: We go canoeing down the Buffalo River, stopping every once in a while to play in the water or jump off a rope swing! It is a great way to enjoy the summer heat!

Description: This is a day that all East Wood members are encouraged to come to the building and do some cleaning or maintenance work. We are proud of our building and appreciate everyone who puts in effort to keep it looking nice!

Description: Every 4th Sunday evening (unless otherwise noted) we have a devo after evening services at the home one of our members. We sing, have a lesson, and eat dinner together. Be sure to sign up on the youth bulletin board if you would like to be a host!

Description: This lock-in serves many purposes. It is a wrap-up to our summer activities, a mid-year check in on our goals, a pre-school year pep talk, and an initiation for our new youth group members entering the 7th grade! Due to the intimate and rewarding nature of this event, our current policy is that only members of East Wood may attend lock-ins.

Description: This is an invitation for all East Wood members, but especially those with younger children, to come enjoy skating together!

Description: This retreat is a time of spiritual development and relationship building. We play lots of games, sing and study together, and grow closer together as Christians!

Description: This is a banquet for the older members of East Wood where the youth group comprises the wait staff. There is also an activity or show put on by the young people for the enjoyment of the older folks.

Description: This is a two-day service project during Spring Break where we simply ask members of East Wood or members of our community if they are in need of anything at all. We have raked yards, picked up sticks, mowed yards, played BINGO with the elderly, put together blessing bags, and much more!

Description: To begin our Sunday PM services, we engage in 10 minutes of KidSing. We start by saying the books of the Bible, sing a few songs, learn some Bible trivia, and close with some important points about the Christian faith. This program is to engage our younger children, but it has proven useful for engaging the entire congregation as well.

Description: This is a camp that provides a spiritually and physically engaging environment through classes, activities and games, and connection with other young Christians. It is more of an outdoor camp.

Description: One of the best ways we serve the elderly members of this community is our times of worship with them in song. They love having us come and sing with them!

Description: We make three stops during the progressive dinner: appetizers, main course, and dessert. At each stop we play a game as well, culminating in a Dirty Santa gift exchange at the final house. Sometimes this event doubles as our December devo, and sometimes it is coupled with our NYE Lock-In.

Description: Youth rally for middle and high school students on the campus of Freed-Hardeman University. It's a great way to experience FHU and grow spiritually! Find more info at fhu.edu/rush

Description: This is a recurring event for 3rd-8th grade boys that includes a devotional and a program or skill development session. Occasionally there are on-location learning experiences as well!

Description: The primary purpose of this trip is to go shopping for Christmas presents for children in need. We also enjoy lunch and some shopping of our own. Sometimes we go ice skating in downtown Clarksville if it is available.

Description: This is an event to engage students outside of the less-than-ideal environment of prom without missing out on dressing up nice and enjoying some fun activities with friends!

Description: This is an event for all East Wood members to get into the Halloween spirit! When the weather permits, we decorate the trunks of our cars and hand out candy to the young ones who have dressed up! If there is bad weather, we move inside to our downstairs hallway.

Description: Vacation Bible School is a time-honored tradition of taking a few days out of the summer to focus on the word of God. At East Wood our VBS lasts from 10am-Noon and includes a craft, classroom time, snack, and a story room every day!

Description: This retreat is for many West TN congregations, aka the people at every SYS. It will be a spiritually uplifting time and a great way to grow closer to other young Christians from our area!

Description: This event is a call to go back to the basics of Christian fellowship and an invitation to invite friends to experience the love and connection of Christ! We serve dinner, have a devotional, and play some fun games!

Description: This lock-in serves many purposes. It is when we recognize the accomplishments of our students over the past year, we challenge them to achieve new goals in the coming year, and spend some quality time together! Due to the intimate and rewarding nature of this event, our current policy is that only members of East Wood may attend lock-ins.

Description: We are occasionally asked to help with the Back to School Bash hosted by the Resource Center. We are positioned at the entrance of Walmart to ask patrons to consider donating some school supplies.

Description: This is a photo scavenger hunt done throughout the city of Paris! Each team is given a list of items and actions to take pictures of and send in to Ethan. The team with the most points by the end of the hunt wins a prize!

Description: This is a benevolent activity of serving hot food to those in our community in need of a good meal. This is a great way to serve and to plant some spiritual seeds in the hearts of those around us!

Description:  Every Monday evening in the summer we go to an area congregation to have a worship service with a lesson focused on things relevant to our young people. It is a great spiritual encouragement during the summer and a great way to meet fellow young Christians in our area!

Description: This is a camp that provides our young people with the opportunity to serve others with some good old-fashioned hard work! We pick a city for several West TN congregations to go to and find homes in that community that could use some TLC. It is a great way to put faith into action and to grow closer to other young Christians in our area!
